Kill For Me, Kill For You by Steve Cavanaugh
Welcome to "A Fleeting Thought" where I post relatively short and to the point book reviews.

This has been on my TBR for over a year but because I love paperback so much, I waited for its release in paperback. It was definitely worth the wait.
I thought I had this book figured out in the beginning. Um. No I did not. I wasn’t wrong but I sure wasn’t right! This book was twisty, face paced, and exciting. I couldn’t put it down. I’m a huge fan of multi POV and I feel like this book did it extremely well.
Why didn’t it get five stars from me?
There were a few inconsistencies/things that bothered me. Spoilers incoming!
I mean it! There are spoilers coming
On page 156, Ruth is escaping through Grand Central with Scott, and makes eye contact with Amanda. This wouldn’t happen because Ruth meets Amanda 11 years after her initial attack. My only rationale for this is that it’s a play on the fact that Grand Central station has the large four faced clock, and the author is trying to make it seem like time doesn’t exist there/overlaps.
My other issue was with Billy. This character needed to be fleshed out a bit more in my opinion. At the end of the book, we don’t know why Billy was murdering. There was no more explanation to his kills/need to kill other than he was just a killer. It was an AMAZING twist to find out that he was Mr. Blue Eyes.
Another point: Billy kills Crone for Amanda. Why? Why would he be kind to Amanda and not kill her like he killed other women? I understand the vengeance against Ruth, but after that, he could have offed Amanda. It doesn’t make sense why he has a soft spot for her.
Book Summary:
One dark evening on New York City’s Upper West Side, two strangers meet by chance. Over drinks, Amanda and Wendy realize they have much in common, especially loneliness and an intense desire for revenge against the men who destroyed their families. As they talk into the night, they come up with the perfect if you kill for me, I’ll kill for you.
In another part of the city, Ruth is home alone when the beautiful brownstone she shares with her husband, Scott, is invaded. She’s attacked by a man with piercing blue eyes, who disappears into the night. Will she ever be able to feel safe again while the blue-eyed stranger is out there?
